Delete your Recato account

This page applies to the Recato app for Android and to the web service at recato.ai.

You can delete your Recato account at any time, in the app itself or by email. This page explains how, who can do it and what happens to your data.

In the app itself

Open the menu with your name, in the corner of the sidebar.
Choose “My account”.
Open the “My data” tab and go to the “Delete the account” section.
Click the “Delete the account” button.
Confirm: enter your password and the word DELETE, then click “Delete the account” again.

The steps are the same in the Android app and on the website.

Who can

The account holder, who is the person managing the subscription: only they see the “Delete the account” section. Other users of the workspace ask the holder, or write to us at info@recato.pt.

By email

If you cannot sign in, write to us from the account’s email address at info@recato.pt, with the subject “Delete the account”. We confirm the request by email and delete the account. We reply within one month.

What happens

The subscription ends immediately and the workspace is deleted with all conversations, files, assistant memory and users. Once confirmed, the deletion cannot be undone: to keep your data, export it first, in “My account”.

The following is kept, for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy:

invoices already issued, as required by tax law, for 10 years;
the account’s identification data (name, email and, if you provided them, VAT number, company and phone), for 12 months after the account ends;
backups, which are deleted within 90 days at most.

Without an account

If you only tried it without an account, there is no account to delete: the trial workspace has no name or email. Without an account, once you close the browser you no longer have access to the conversations, and the next visit starts in a new, blank workspace. The conversations and files of that workspace are kept under the terms of the Privacy Policy; a workspace in which nothing was ever written is deleted after 24 hours.
